NDDC advocates for Collaborations to Curb Plastic Pollution in the Niger Delta

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has called for collaboration and partnership with relevant stakeholders both within and outside the region to curb plastic pollution.

This call was made by the Director, Environmental Protection and Control, NDDC, Engr. Onuoha Obeka, during the NDDC World Environmental Day seminar in Port Harcourt.
This seminar aims to create awareness, encourage new thinkers, and spur behavioural changes amongst relevant regional stakeholders and citizens.

According to Engr. Onuoha , NDDC has, over the years, taken significant steps to improve the region’s environmental fortunes by donating waste infrastructure and community sensitization, among other things, to various communities in the region. However, NDDC alone can not curb these menaces, hence the need for collaboration with subnational governments, legislative backings, law enforcement agencies, and community leaders to maintain a healthy environment.
