Napoli reach ‘total agreement’ for Osimhen sale
Napoli have reached a total agreement with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli for Victor Osimhen.
Al-Ahli have agreed a deal to sign Osimhen for a fee in the region of €80m (£67.2m) and the Saudi side have booked a medical for the Nigeria international.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the proposal is a four-year contract that will see Osimhen earn around £25m net per season, and will include the requested release clause.
Osimhen yet to give Al-Hilal the ‘green light’
The final decision remains with Osimhen who has so far failed to approve a potential move to the Middle East.
He had shown initial reluctance to move to Al-Hilal but will consider the switch should a European transfer fail to materialise, with Napoli still locked in talks with Chelsea over a deal before the 11pm (BST) deadline for Premier League transfers on Friday.
Chelsea still hope to convince Osimhen to move to West London, on an initial loan with an obligation to make the move permanent. However, the player’s wages have proven to be an issue during negotiations.
Enzo Maresca’s side are running out of time to conclude a deal before the deadline, though Al-Hilal will remain relaxed given the Saudi Pro League’s transfer window does not close until next month. Napoli completed the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea as Osimhen’s replacement on Thursday.
