Man Dies Inside Petrol Tank In Kwara
A 29-year-old petrol tank installer identified simply as Ahmed has reportedly died as a result of suffocation while on duty in an underground tank.
The incident, City & Crime learnt, happened on Saturday around 7pm at Bovas Filling Station on Ajase-Ipo Road, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Ahmed’s corpse was recovered by men of the Kwara State Fire Service.
A witness said the Ahmed went into the tank for maintenance works without safety gear.
Giving further details on the matter, the spokesman of the fire service, Hassan Adekunle, said, “The victim came from Ibadan with his boss for the job. While they were performing the maintenance work inside the tank, he suffocated.
“Our men came and evacuated the body from and handed it over to his boss, Mr Abdulbasit Oladimeji.”
