‎TUC Boss Hails Bayelsa United’s Victory Over Rivers United.



‎The Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, TUC Bayelsa State Council, Dr Laye Julius has commended Bayelsa United on their five-star performance against Rivers United in the matchday eight fixture at the Adokiye Amiesimaka, Stadium in Port Harcourt.

‎Bayelsa United beat the Pride of Rivers 2-1 to confirm their supremacy over Rivers United with goals from Shuaibu Garba on 28 and Chinedu Emmanuel on 70 minutes as a consolation goal from Stephen Manyo on added minute gave the visitors the deserved victory.

‎The former Bayelsa United Vice Chairman in an interview with journalists shortly after the encounter, hailed the Prosperity Boys for showing determination and dexterity throughout the encounter.

‎Noting that he was confident that Bayelsa United would return victorious from the encounter due to the team’s recent performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Dr Julius described Rivers United as a good team.

‎According to him, the support from the government and management of the team, was crucial to the team’s triumph, maintaining that the victory reflects the support from Bayelsans who traveled from Yenagoa to Port-Harcourt to cheer the boys up.

‎The former Bayelsa State Football Association Vice chairman, expressed worries over the absence of a substantive Technical Adviser for the team, urging the management to back Meremu Okara while searching for a new gaffer.

‎He appreciated all the stakeholders and fans in the state who were in Port-Harcourt to support the team, stating that the victory would change the fortunes of the team as the league progresses.
