Ibadan Tragedy: One Dead, Nine Rescued as Fire Service Battles Multiple Emergencies in Oyo

 

The Oyo State Fire Service has recovered the body of a man following a road accident in Ibadan, while rescuing at least nine people from a separate fire incident in the state capital.

According to OSPRIMETV, the incidents occurred on Saturday at different locations across the city.

The fatal accident took place in front of Omo Ajorosun Club House along the Total Garden area of Ibadan. Officials said an Ashok Leyland truck, with registration number FFF340XB (Ogun), ran over a motorcycle, killing a male rider at the scene.

Fire service personnel recovered the victim’s body and handed it over to officers from the Yemetu Police Division.

In a separate development, firefighters rescued nine الأشخاص from a blaze at a private four-bedroom residential building located at No. 18 Idi Oro Road (A), Sode area along Ajibode in Ibadan.

The rescued victims were taken to Oyo Mesi Specialist Hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, another fire outbreak destroyed three shops in Iseyin, in the Oke Ogun area of the state.

Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incidents in a statement on Sunday, saying emergency responders were swiftly deployed upon receiving distress calls.

“Our officers quickly swung into action, recovered a male victim and handed him over to a team of policemen from Yemetu Police Divisional Headquarters,” he said.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the causes of the incidents.
