Jose Mourinho breaks silence after Tottenham sacking with amusing social media post
Jose Mourinho has spoken for the first time since he was sacked as Tottenham manager.
Tottenham: Press gather outside Mourinho’s home after sacking
Jose Mourinho has posted an amusing social media video – breaking his silence following his sacking by Tottenham. Mourinho was relieved of his duties by Tottenham on Monday morning, 17 months after he replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the north London club. He has also given a brief interview, where he insisted he does not need a break from football.
Mourinho leaves Spurs in seventh in the Premier League table, six days before Sunday’s Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
But the Portuguese is clearly not too upset by the news.
The 58-year-old has posted a video on his personal Instagram page of photographers and cameramen gathering outside his home in London.
Also present was Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill, who was the first to interview Mourinho after he was sacked by Manchester United in December 2018.

Mourinho was not visible in the video but could be heard complaining about the lack of privacy he is being given today.
“They don’t give me privacy,” he said.
“Even my friend Gary is disturbing me. That’s my life.”
It was clear Mourinho was not being overly serious, with Cotterill smiling at his comments.
Cotterill also managed to grab a quick word with Mourinho, who wasn’t giving much away.
“You know me, you know that I’m not going to say anything,” Mourinho said to Sky Sports News.
Asked if he needed a break, Mourinho responded: “No need. No need for breaks and batteries.
“I”m always in football.”
Tottenham announced the departure of the former Chelsea and United boss early on Monday.
His coaching staff Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra were also relieved of their duties.
Academy coach and former midfielder Ryan Mason took the training session on Monday but an interim manager is yet to be announced.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy thanked Mourinho for his work and says he will always be welcomed back to the club.
Levy said: “Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a Club.
“Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic.
“On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged.
“He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution.”
