IZZI YAKIAH HAILS TIMIPRE SYLVA CAMPAIGNS APPROACH, REACTS TO GOVERNOR DIRI STATEMENT

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, Izzi Yakiah says, Chief Timipre Sylva is the most experienced and strategically positioned Governorship candidate prepared to end the era of slow pace of development in the State .

Izzi’s assertion which was contained in a press statement he personally signed at the weekend commended the APC Governorship candidate for adhering to democratic principles in his political campaigns across communities in Sagbama, Ekeremor and Southern Ijaw council areas .

He observed that Sylva unveiled six point agenda of Human Capital Development, Infrastructure, Gas hub, Agriculture and security called “HIGAS” is adopted by the Bayelsa APC Governorship candidate as a model to execute a new phase of developmental programmes that will be complemented by a partnership with President Bola Tinubu renewed hope administration.

The release draws the attention of Bayelsa monarchs and people to last friday Governor Douye Diri statement at his campaign at Ekeremor town where he publicly said “God has rejected Timipre Sylva” .

Chief Yakiah maintained that the Governor statement is not only childish but a vilify that is disheartening from a senior citizen who occupies the most exalted seat of power in the Ijaw homogenous State.

Izzi added that the Governor who exhausted twelve minutes out of his twenty minutes remarks at Ekeremor town discussing the character of Timipre Sylva is another latest failed attempts to maligned the Okpoma Born Politician that is highly respected for his patriotism to nation building .

He noted that unlike Governor Diri whose four year representation of Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal constituency in the green chamber produced no constituency projects and no bill passed in his instance, the incoming Governor Chief Timipre Sylva has distinguished himself with a long standing history of human capital development .

He cited Timipre Sylva decision to initiate the Presidential Amnesty Programme through late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua with over thirty thousands beneficiaries across the Niger Delta region, facilitation of oil pipelines surveillance contracts to prominent Izon leaders, sponsorship of numbers of Bayelsa Youth to Thailand for fashion and design training, sponsorship of one hundred and eight students of Bayelsa indigenous to acquire first and master degrees in the field of Medicine , Engineering in Russia as well as the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act as practical testimony of the former Governor desire commitment to the welfare of people .

The statement also disagreed with the Governor claims that Timipre Sylva never wanted Senator Heineken Lokpobiri or any other APC member in Bayelsa State to be appointed as Minister and argued that the appointment of Ministers is a perogative of President Bola Tinubu who respects the statutory understanding of Federal character principle .

The statement also reminded the Governor of the role Timipre Sylva played when President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Heineken Lokpobiri as a Minister of State for Agriculture in 2015 after the Bayelsa PDP heldship frustrated his bid to return to the Senate for the third time.

Chief Izzi wondered why the Governor who had always acted as a peace ambassador will suddenly result to campaign of calumny, propaganda and blackmail of Timipre Sylva instead of issue based campaigns.

The Yenagoa born Political believes that the Governor decision to single out Timipre Sylva out of other fourteen Governorship candidates for unfair condemnation is a sign that the incumbent Governor is fustrated by the manner he has been abandoned by PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and top hierarchy of his party including the Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas who is appointed to chair the Bayelsa PDP Guber campaign has clearly distance himself from the Diri campaign programme in the state .
