IYC Backs Governor Diri’s Call On Security Agencies To Arrest Alaye, Others For Impersonation 

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, has backed his Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State on his call to arrest one Dr. Theophilous Alaye and others for Impersonating the offices of the 9th National Executive Council of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) under Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr.

This was contained in a statement signed by Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide earlier today.

The statement had also described Governor Douye Diri as a champion of development in Bayelsa State and a man who never goes back on his words, stressing that his patriotism to Ijaw issues is uncommon.

Governor Diri, A Blessing To Ijaw Nation, Ijaw Youths Are Proud Of You

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has particularly described His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State as a blessing to Ijaw nation who has clearly and consistently demonstrated uncommon patriotism to Ijaw nation.

There is no doubt that the Ijaw Youth Council will continue to be apolitical and will always be unapologetic in the quest for resource control and self determination as enshrined in the Kaiama declaration of December 11th 1998. Council while speaking truth to power will also commend leaders of Ijaw nation that are contributing towards the growth and development of Council and Ijaw nation.

His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri is not only a blessing to Ijaw nation but a leader the entire Ijaw Youths are proud of following his firm leadership and prosperity driven administration in Bayelsa that is aggressively repositioning the state for the betterment of Bayelsans and Ijaw nation in general.

Apart from the many historical developmental strides of the Governor, Council is commending our amiable Governor of Bayelsa  State, Sen. Douye Diri for directing security agencies to arrest Dr. Alaye Theophilous and his crew for impersonating the offices of the 9th NEC of Council. This bold statement from the Governor for the umpteen time has further made the Governor as a man who never goes back on his words.

The Governor has been personally involved in overseeing all activities leading to the election of the 9th NEC conducted at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Center in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on the 22nd of July 2023 by the Ijaw Youths. He has always supported the 9th NEC led by Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr from his open endorsement at Sampou to donation of land for the building of the IYC Global Secretariat in Yenagoa to the moral and steady financial support for Council and its activities.

IYC is advising security agencies to adhere to the directives given by the Governor general of Ijaw Nation, His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri to arrest Alaye and his crew for impersonation and acting as a willing tool against the progress of Ijaw nation.

Finally, while the IYC is proud of our Governor who is a champion of Development in Bayelsa State, it is our prayer that the Lord Almighty shall continue to give him the strength, knowledge and unprecedented wisdom to take Bayelsa and Ijaw nation to an enviable height as the IYC is ready to give the Governor the needed support whenever Council is needed.
