
The immediate past Director of Sports, Bayelsa State Sports Council, Sir Braveman Wodi has commiserated with the Bayelsa State Government and the Family of the Ewhrudjakpo’s over the death of the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
Sir Wodi in a condolence message, said he received the news of the demise of the deputy governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo with sadness and disbelief.
According to him, Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s death marks a significant blow to the state particularly the sports ministry that he supervised, pointing out that the deceased was an honest and consistent politician who believed and practised politics with principle, describing him as a leader with conviction, not convenience.
He noted that throughout his five years as Director of Sports, the late deputy governor was always available to attend to issues concerning the council and athletes’ welfare, maintaining that the late deputy governor’s life was anchored on belief and integrity, qualities which he upheld until his final moments.
The statement notes that, Senator Ewhrudjakpo demonstrated uncommon dedication, discipline, and strategic insight, earning the respect of colleagues across the nation, stressing that his contributions to public administration and state development will remain enduring reference points to his quality of leadership.
Sir Wodi prayed to the Almighty God to grant repose to his soul and give his family,loved ones and the entire state the strength to bear this painful loss
