I’ll pay N12m tithe from my prize money, says BBNaija winner Ilebaye
Ilebaye Odiniya, the winner of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) All Stars, says she would give 10 percent as tithe to her church from the N120 million prize money she earned from the reality show.
Tithing is a practice deeply rooted in the Christian religion, where individuals typically give one-tenth of their earnings to the church.
The 22-year-old reality TV star won the BBNaija All Stars season on October 1 and was presented with a cheque for N120 million and a brand-new car.
Ilebaye revealed her decision to allocate part of the money to her church in a recent question and answer session with fans.
“Once the N120 million reaches my account, I am not going to buy anything; I will give my tithe to God and thank him for the grace he has given me, it is a good grace,” she said.
On October 2, Yahaya Bello, Kogi state governor congratulated Ilebaye for winning the All Stars edition, describing her as “the pride of Kogi and a true trendsetter”.
The reality TV star also recently denied rumours claiming her clashes with housemates were strategy to win the show.
“I did not even have any strategy going into the house. I just feel like I was just having fun. Some people in the house have certain beef with me that I did not really get,” she had said.
“So I might do something and they might be like I am purposely coming to annoy them even though to me, I am not. I am not saying I am perfect.”
