IJAW YOUTH COUNCIL EASTERN ZONE CONDEMNS DIRECTIVE FROM PRESIDENT TINUBU AND STANDS IN DEFENSE OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND AUTONOMY
As the Ijaw Youth Council Eastern Zone, we strongly condemn the recent directive from President Tinubu to Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Rivers State. We believe that this directive could exacerbate the already tense political situation in Rivers State and potentially cause more harm than good. It is our firm belief that this directive is an act of intimidation and goes against the provisions of the Nigerian constitution.
We are unwavering in our commitment to upholding the rights and autonomy of the Ijaw people and Rivers State. Any attempt to undermine the mandate of the Ijaw people or the authority of Governor Siminalayi Fubara will be met with firm resistance. We are ready to use any means necessary to ensure that the will of the Ijaw people in Rivers State is upheld and that their constitutional rights are safeguarded.
It is crucial that we unite to preserve the integrity of the democratic process and the principles of federalism. We call upon all Ijaw youth and concerned citizens of Rivers State to stand together against any attempts to subvert the constitutional provisions and the autonomy of our state. We will not stand idly by while the rights and mandate of the Ijaw people are disregarded or threatened.
In conclusion, we categorically denounce the directive from President Tinubu and affirm our determination to resist any actions that seek to undermine the democratic will and constitutional rights of the Ijaw people in Rivers State. We will remain vigilant and resolute in our defense of the autonomy and authority of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Rivers State.
