The IGP represented by the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Hafiz Inuwa noted that it was very apt that the new SIB office will position the intelligence wing of the police force to be at its best. “It will contribute immensely in keeping the police ahead of the criminal elements in the society and as such proactively nip in the bud the nefarious activities of the men f the underworld,” he said.

Earlier, in his welcome address, National Coordinator of Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade said the donation of the structure to the police was another landmark activity of CEPEJ in its quest to promote peace, unity and environmental sustainability in the African Continent.

He pointed out that there was need for infrastructural investment in Nigera, and CEPEJ with the corporate goal and missions to champion activities geared towards peace building, advocacy for human rights and good governance, pooled resources to support the activities of security outfits.

“Our earlier plan was to support the construction of the SIB building when we were informed but due to the outstanding performance and commitment, we decided to fully take it over and erect a structure with furniture for effective State Intelligence Investigation Bureau in Warri and environs,” he added.
