I Am Not Moved By G-5 Governors’ Plan – Atiku
The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Thursday said he is not perturbed by the plans of the five aggrieved governors of the party, identified as the G-5, to endorse presidential candidates of other political parties.
Atiku’s statement is coming days after the governors allegedly met with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu in London, the United Kingdom.
In attendance at the meeting were Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Samuel Ortom (Benue) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu states.
Atiku in a statement released through his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, said anybody planning to stop his presidential bid should first make himself president.
He said, “Atiku will be president. Whether the cock crows or not, the sun must rise. Power belongs to God Almighty; no man can arrogate to himself the powers of God Almighty. Any man who can boast of stopping Atiku should first make himself president of Nigeria.”
Shaibu speaking with Daily Sun said his principal would not be surprised by whatever action the G-5 governors decided to take.
He added, “Atiku is an elephant. Even when an elephant walks on thorns, it does not limp. And when you have seen a snake, it cannot bite you anymore. In this case, we have seen the snake, how can we be taken by surprise?”
