HUMAN TRAFFICKING: EDO POLICE RESCUES 19 VICTIMS – Video
Edo State police in collaboration with Edo state vigilance security network have rescued about nineteen children including a teenager, six women two men believed to have been trafficked into Edo state under the pretence of being taken to the state for help.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kontongs Bello (SP) said Edo State Police Command in collaboration with Vigilante group rescued some group of women and children believed to have been trafficked from Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Anambra and Akwa Ibom States to Evbuotubu in Ekenwan Road axis of Benin City.
The Commissioner of Police, Philip Ogbadu who further said they are already on the hunt for the fleeing Jennifer stressed that the malnourished children were first taken to the hospital before they were handed over to officials of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
