Heavy Downpour Kills 100 Cattle In Plateau
Daily Trust gathered that the heavy rain which was the first rain this year started on Sunday and lasted for about 48 hours.
Sule Woje, Chairman of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), told Daily Trust that the cattle that were already weakened and could not move as usual after the rain died one after the other.
According to the chairman, “We believe that the long absence of the rain was the cause of the calamity.
“Experts have told us that the delay in the commencement of the rain in the area had already caused famine. That was why when the rain came, their blood became frozen and could not move to anywhere”.
Woje however said even though they had lost millions of naira they were able to slaughter some of them before they died.
