Group raises alarm over “mole” in NSA office, alleges subversion of petitions against Amnesty office
A group, the Niger Delta Conscientious Alliance (NDCA), has raised alarm over the existence of a mole in the office of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, alleging that this mole is involved in subversion of petitions against some groups and Individuals from the region including the office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).
According to the NDCA, the existence of the mole was purposely revealed when they filed a petition on the 6th of December, 2024 but the petition was subverted a day after by a Special Assistant in the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) without proper investigation into the allegations raised.
The Secretary-General of the NDCA, Comrade Emmanuel Seidougha, in a statement issued on Monday, alleged that the group were shocked that a Special Assistant to the NSA on Niger Delta Affairs allegedly blocked the petition and subverted it by going public with a report on the evening of the same day against the group’s petition, claiming that about 1,700 scholarship beneficiaries deployed in various Nigerian institutions by the Amnesty office for the 2024/2025 academic session in Warri, Delta State.
The NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu last week represented by his Special Assistant on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr Goodluck Ebelo had urged the Amnesty undergraduates to take full advantage of their sponsorship to acquire higher education and contribute to national growth and development after graduation.
But the NDCA through its Secretary-General Comrade Emmanuel Seidougha, alleged that fewer than the 1, 700 scholarship beneficiaries as claimed by the Amnesty office were deployed to various Nigerian institutions for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The Secretary-General of the NDCA urged the NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to urgently suspend his Special Assistant over allege breach of National Security, alleging that such an individual with multiple alliances to questionable characters and with questions about his loyalty to the NSA cannot be seen to be working in the Office of the National Security Adviser where national secrets are discussed and kept.
Recall that The NDCA through Comrade Emmanuel Seidougha, in the petition had called for the Urgent Suspension of Mr. Dennis Otuaro the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme for Intentionally Creating Crisis meant to Destabilize the Peace in the Niger Delta Region.
“We write to bring to your attention the ongoing unrest in the Niger Delta that was intentionally created by Mr. Dennis Otuaro the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) to cause disunity, crisis and chaos among the different leader’s camps in the region to enable Mr. Dennis Otuaro and his Boss Mr. Government Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo to instigate and use the youths against their various camps leaders in their failed quest for power supremacy across the Niger Delta region.”
The group also alleged on the existence of a detention center where numerous missing persons and individuals were arrested and kept in detention cells with about 30 individuals locked in each cell, and are held hostage and used for slave labour against their will for an extended period, ranging from weeks to years.”
“Their prison conditions are extremely poor, with bed-seaters and about 30 people cramped into each container cell. Additionally, there are other container caravans used as additional detention spaces. The detainees are forced into hard-labor, being used to construct the palace and carry out various building projects against their will.”
“In-fact, they use the Nigeria Police officers, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps officers, and other security personnel attached to their company to illegally travel to different states to raid the homes of their critics and in some cases kidnap or kill them at the scene.”
“This is the case of Mr. Charles Kurubo from Bayelsa state, a critic of Mr. Government Ekpomupolo also known as Tompolo and Mr. Dennis Otuaro the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. They allegedly loaded fifteen (15) vans of Nigeria police officers, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps officers, and other security personnel attached to their company to raid his home, shot at his vehicle and kidnapped him to their cell in their community – Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta state where he is being detained while many people feared that he has been killed already. This incident took place about midnight on Tuesday 19th November 2024.”
