GOSSOBA 1984 alumni celebrates NIS ACG, James Sunday on his Promotion and performance:
Prominent scholars and professional members of the Government Science Secondary School Old Boys Association in Gombe State weekend celebrated Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration Service ACG James Sunday over his performance and elevation in Service to Nigeria.
Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration Service ACG James Sunday, who is a member of the 1984 set of the Government Science Secondary School Gombe Old Boys Association, is also an Alumni of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria ,Master in International Affairs and Diplomacy,(MIAD),2008.
ACG James Sunday have also carved a niche from the Science secondary school, Gombe and later attended the Federal College of Education, Gombe , where he graduated with the ABU Excellent Award of his set of 1987, also Kaduna Polytechnic and Federal University of Technology Minna where he bagged a Second Class Upper in Industrial and Technology Education,joined the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)in 1989 attended the premier Immigration Training School, Kano 25th Basic Course and passed out meritoriously with the Awards of the Ministers Highest Award and Directors Highest Awards respectively.
He later became the first Public Relations Officer of the NIS that held the position from the state Command level in Rivers, Zonal PRO at the Zone B, Headquarters , Kaduna and subsequently became the Service Public Relations Officer at the National Headquarters of the Service(NIS) in Abuja.
He was also the first Pioneer NIS-Interpol Desk Officer that sets the phase for the Nigeria Immigration Service and Interpol NCB at the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters breaking grounds for the success achieved in the successful launch of the Interpol I-24/7 connectivity platform that brought Nigeria to limelight in the Interpol global Community, in a synergy between the NCB and other Sister security agencies, where NIS played prominent role.
He also served as the first to be appointed Special Adviser Security to a Minister of Interior of Nigeria at a critical moment that demanded expertise in intelligence gathering to curb jail breaks and need for Prison Reforms a duty well served on secondment.
Presently, he is the Zonal Coordinator, Zone C, Headquarters of the Nigeria immigration service comprising Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe,Plateau and Yobe States covering the North East.
ACG James Sunday is a Celebrated Media Personality, Strategic Communication Expert,Respectable Media ICON among his colleagues in the Forum of Security Services and Response Agencies (FOSSRA) an umbrella body for all Public Relations Officers, a prolific writer and author of books, journals, Polo Enthusiast, Golfer, Lover of God, Family Man,happily Married with beautiful Children.
