Former Tottenham star collapses in horrific scene during Euro 2020 match
Chrisitan Eriksen collapsed during the first half of Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland, causing incredibly distressing and worry scenes from Copenhagen.
Medical staff rushed onto the field to perform CPR on the fallen Denmark star, who was unconscious at the time.
The match was suspended as onlookers and players looked on in horror, hoping the 29 year old’s situation improves. Eriksen was one of Tottenham’s most influential players for seven years. Eriksen went to ground unchallenged. Denmark players and Eriksen’s wife were understandably disconsolate.
Denmark has high hopes of advancing from a group that includes Finland, Russia and Belgium. But football for now pales importance to Eriksen’s condition and the hope that he can recover from a scene that was incredibly difficult to watch.
