Former Ijaw congress President, Kimse Okoko, kicks the bucket at 80
The former President of the Ijaw National Congress and Emeritus Professor of Political Science at the University of Port Harcourt, Kimse Okoko, is dead.
Okoko, who was additionally the President of the Conference of Ethnic Nationalities in Niger Delta, kicked the bucket on Sunday at an emergency clinic in Port Harcourt.
He hailed from Obunagha community in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Okoko’s downfall happened a six months after the death of his billionaire-businessman son and former governorship hopeful on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Keniebi, who was 42.
His child, Ebitimi, affirmed the demise of the Pro-Chancellor, University of Uyo, to osprimetv.com.
He stated, “He passed on around 5 pm on Sunday. He has been sick. He was 80.”
