Foremost Nigerian environmental Lawyer and activist, Lucius Nwosu SAN has reportedly died.

According to reports, the Port Harcourt based Learned Silk widely reputed for his strong advocacy for the environmental rights of oil producing areas in the Niger Delta and his legal battles with International Oil Companies, passed on this morning.

Sources informed The Lawyer that the Learned Silk died in his sleep.

Recall that in February, The Lawyer reported that Lucius Nwosu in a petition to the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata asking for the withdrawal of another prominent Senior Advocate, Wole Olanipekun SAN from the Body Benchers.

In the petition, he accused Olanipekun of misconduct and behaviour unbecoming of a member of the Body of Benchers.

As at the time of filing this report, there is yet to be an official response to his reported death.
