The Burutu Federal House of Representatives member, Hon. Julius Pondi described as a political saint in Niger Delta and Burutu Local Government Area by his massive supporters was represented by Hon. Tonkiri Apu, his senior legislative aide and others that made the delegation to the Burutu Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Godknows Angele and Hon. Sunny Perekeme, secretary of the council and Burutu Local Government flood management committee chairman. W
While presenting the relief materials to the council chairman on behalf of Hon. Julius Pondi earlier today by Hon. Tonkiri Apu, the senior legislative aide accompanied by Comr. Emmanuel Gesikeme Akpule, Comr. Godwin Oro and others had once again conveyed the heartfelt sympathy of Pondi to the entire people of Burutu Local Government Area, particularly the flood riddled communities, describing the situation as unfortunate.
Apu noted that his boss, Hon. Pondi is highly touched by the sufferings of his people occasioned by the flood in Burutu Local Government Area, adding that he could not have watched but to render assistance to the people, stressing that the people needs him now more than ever, stressing that he could have personally come to deliver and sympathize with the people but other national assignment would not allow him to do so.

According to him, in his on way to reach out to victims of the 2022 flood victims, Pondi has been able to purchased 100 bags of garri, 60 bags of beans, 60 cartons of Indomie noodles as well as 50 bundles of zinks for the flood victims.
A whopping cash of #1.1 million was also doled out as a token to all the Federal wards in Burutu Local Government Area.
He noted that since there is a flood management committee for Burutu Local Local Government set up by the Council Chairman, the best thing to do was to present the items and cash to the Local Government Chairman and the flood management committee for onward distribution across the heavily affected communities.
Pondi Has Truly Done Well, We Are Proud Of Him – Angele
Shortly after receiving the items and cash at Burutu Community, headquarters of the Local Government Council from Hon. Pondi’s men earlier today, Angele had described Pondi as a special lawmaker, stressing that Burutu Local Government is proud of him as he has done well.
However, Chairman Angele asserted that there is already an existing IDP camp at Burutu Primary School in Burutu Community, adding that the challenge the committee and council is facing is that the flood victims from the various communities have refused to come to the IDP camp in Burutu.
In lauding Pondi for his kind gesture, Angele had stated that the council is also expecting relief materials from the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Governor Okowa’s wife and will be augmented by the Council with more relief materials for onward distribution.
Nevertheless, in an interview with The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide shortly after the presentation and hand over ceremony, Angele had dropped the hint that the Council is likely going to commence the distribution of the relief materials to the flood affected communities across Burutu Local Government Area on Friday this week.
All Relief Materials Will Be Distributed To Flood Ravaged Communities In Burutu – Perekeme
On his part, Chairman of the Burutu Local Government Flood Management Committee, Hon. Perekeme Sunny had assured Hon. Pondi that all relief materials will be equitably distributed to all flood ravaged communities in Burutu Local Government Council.
Speaking further, Perekeme have stated that the relief materials provided by Pondi and others that will be coming to the Local Government will all be distributed to the flood affected communities equitably in such a way that all the affected communities benefit from the kind gesture of Pondi.
The Relief Materials Will Go A Long Way In Ameliorating The Sufferings Of Our People – Ayabotu
Chairman of the Burutu Local Government NULGE, Comr. Bernard Ayabotu had while heaping praises on Pondi had stated that the relief materials will go a long way in ameliorating the sufferings of the people.
He continued that although the flood is a natural disaster but described the situation as overwhelming, stressing that many communities in the Local Government have been overtaken by the flood.
