Flood murders 16, pulverizes 3,042 houses in Bauchi
Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) says flood had murdered 16 people, pulverized 3,042 houses and a few farmlands in the state.
Alhaji Shehu Ningi, the Permanent Secretary (PS) of SEMA told osprimetv.com on Friday in Bauchi that 11 out of the 20 nearby government territories of the state were influenced by the flood.
“The influenced nearby government territories incorporate Shira, Dambam, Katagum, Jammare, Warji, Itas, Alkaleri, Bauchi, Zaki Kirfi and Gamawa,” he said.
He said farmlands and yields including maize, millet, guinea corn and rice were obliterated because of the flood.
Ningi said the state government has guided the organization to give help materials to some influenced networks in six neighborhood government regions.
He clarified that help materials gave to the casualties include: grouped food things, medication, sheets, kayaks and brief asylum.
“The influenced casualties have been incidentally migrated to different schools, mosques and family members’ homes,” Ningi said.
Ningi included that the legislature was giving a valiant effort to deflect the circumstance in different pieces of the state.
“The Agency has set out on an elevated level of sharpening to strict bodies and networks through jingles and different methods for correspondence,” he said.
He asked the individuals to stay away from unpredictable dumping of decline and erection of structures on the streams.
Ningi focused on the requirement for government to extend waste frameworks and take part in the development of dams that would diminish the volume of water that goes into the networks.
