EXECUTIVE SECRETARY’S MESSAGE TO NCDMB STAFF ON THE RENEWAL OF HIS APPOINTMENT BY PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, GCFR.
Dear Colleagues,
I am excited to formally announce to you that our dear President, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR has renewed my appointment as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), for another four years.
Let me seize this opportunity to convey my utmost gratitude to Mr. President for affording me another opportunity to serve our great nation in the capacity as the Executive Secretary of NCDMB and for appreciating our modest achievements at the Board in the last four years.
As you would have read or heard from the statement that emanated from the Presidency, my appointment was renewed based on the positive recommendation by my boss, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, His Excellency, Chief Timipre Sylva.
I am hugely appreciative to Chief Sylva, not only for his kind recommendation, but particularly for all the support he has lent to my public service career and guidance to me in this role as the Executive Secretary. The leadership he has provided to the Board as Chairman of the Governing Council has been exceptional. May God bless and reward him abundantly.
Dear colleagues, I will like to thank every staff from the bottom of my heart for the immeasurable contribution you have made to the attainment of the remarkable achievements that were alluded to by Mr. President. Special thanks go to my management team for rallying the troops and helping to realise the key goals we set for ourselves.
At the individual and team levels, we must be proud that NCDMB has become a model for other agencies in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and beyond. I am confident that working together as we have always, we would maintain and even surpass the enviable standard we have set in output and outcomes.
At this juncture, it is important to remind us of the maxim that “the reward for hard work is more work.” I say this because Mr. President, the Honourable Minister of State, and the Nigerian people expect us to double our efforts and deliver more tangible results in this second tenure of my office.
On my part, I assure you that there will not be any second tenure ‘hangover’ or slowdown in the pace of work. If anything, the renewal of my appointment would invigorate and accelerate our programmes and activities and I seek your full loyalty and cooperation in this my final lap.
In the next four years, I expect that we would have delivered on most of the medium-term, if not long-term initiatives we rolled out in the Nigerian Content 10-Year Strategic Roadmap. As you are aware, we recently completed the midterm review of Nigerian Content 10-Year Strategic Roadmap and we took key decisions that will ensure that we breast the tape with our heads high.
In closing, I will like to remind us that the COVID-19 pandemic is still with us and we must continue to observe all the protocols announced by health authorities. As a Board, we must brace up to face any challenges in any of our areas of operations. I have faith that we would work together to find smart solutions to the challenges as we have always done.
I acknowledge all your congratulatory messages and prayers and I pledge that I will continue to provide purposeful leadership. I will also continue to seek for ways to improve our collective welfare as well as innovative ways to deepen Nigerian Content and create employment opportunities for the general wellbeing of Nigerians.
Thank you for your unalloyed support these four years and I count on you as I begin the final four years as your Chief Executive.
