Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas revealed that Austin Jay-Jay Okocha put him under pressure ahead of the 2022 World Cup draw, which took place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center in Doha, Qatar.

Jenas was the conductor of the draw for this year’s World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Qatar between November and December.

The draw was conducted successfully last Friday, but Jenas said he felt pressure ahead of the show, with Okocha playing a part.

The former Bolton star was one of the football legends FIFA called upon to pull the teams out of the pot.

And as with any other live show, the main actors had to go through a rehearsal before the main show.

Jenas revealed Okocha made a mistake in the rehearsal draw, saying he had to correct the former Super Eagles captain twice.

“I went to Jay-Jay Okocha. He was swirling the balls around, Jenas told the Daily Mail.

“I was like, “No, no, Jay-Jay, just the red ball!”. He did it again second time, “Mate, the red ball,” he added.

However, the event turned out to be a success, with both former players playing their part successfully.

For Okocha, though, he could not draw the Nigerian national team as they failed to qualify for the showpiece.

The three-time African champions missed out on qualification after being edged out by Ghana on away goals rule.
