Egypt’s culture ministry releases short documentary about artist Reda Abdel-Salam
Since the last spring’s pandemic’s lockdown, hundreds of videos from various culture activities have been published through multiple channels of the culture ministry’s YouTube channel
Egypt’s culture ministry has released on Monday an English-language documentary film about pop art pioneer Reda Abdel-Salam.
Directed by Fatma AlHaj, the film was published on the YouTube channel of the Supreme Council of Culture as part of the ‘Culture in Your Hands’ initiative launched a year ago by the ministry.
Egyptian illustrator, painter and art critic Reda Abdel-Salam graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1977, eleven years before he finished his Ph.D to enjoy a flourishing career.
The longtime illustrator of ‘Al- Mussawar’ magazine has worked with Al- Ahram newspaper (1977 to 1981), is a member of the Fine Arts Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture.
The acclaimed Suez-born artists have enriched the Egyptian arts with dozens of exhibitions and activities regionally and internationally winning a collection of awards and trophies.
