Eastern Security Network: Kanu warned against sending youths to confront Fulani herdsmen without arms
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has been warned against sending men of the newly-formed Eastern Security Network, ESN, into the battle field with the dreaded Fulani herdsmen without arms.
Biafra Nations League, BNL, gave the warning on Wednesday while commending the IPOB leader for taking the bull by the horns.
In a statement signed by the National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richard, the group said that the security outfit floated by the IPOB is a welcome development.
BNL, however, warned that the motive must not go outside the protection of the East from invading Fulani herdsmen.
“There is nothing wrong with having a vigilante, since the security group is not Biafran Army there is no cause for alarm,” adding that no one group can set up an army of a nation such as Biafra with different tribes.
“Nnamdi Kanu’s led IPOB [must] not send youths involved in the Eastern Security Network to confront armed Fulani herdsmen empty handed,” he said.
Recall that Nnamdi Kanu had launched the Eastern Security Network, ESN at the weekend.
Kanu explained that the ESN was launched to protect the Southeast from marauding Fulani herdsmen and other criminal elements.
The IPOB leader also disclosed that ESN was not different from Amotekun in the Southwest and Miyetti Allah in the north.
