DSS Arrest Tailors, Sponsors Behind Production Of Russian Flags In Kano, Says Lenin Not In Its Custody
The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested some tailors suspected of mass-producing Russian flags in Kano State.
In a statement posted Monday, on X, the DSS said its operatives have also arrested the sponsors of the tailors while the investigation is ongoing.
It added that Adaramoye Michael, national coordinator of Youth Rights Campaign (YRC), allegedly arrested by the DSS, is not in its custody.
Director of Mobilisation, Take It Back Movement, Damilare Adenola, told newsmen earlier that Lenin was arrested by the secret police around 2 am on Monday, at his residence in the Apo area of the FCT.
“The DSS can confirm that Adaramoye Michael (aka Michael Lenin), is not in its custody.
“Meanwhile, the Service has apprehended some tailors in Kano State responsible for making Russian flags being distributed in the area. Some of their sponsors have also been picked. An investigation is ongoing”, the agency wrote on its X handle.
This came as some #EndBadGovernance protesters in the northern part of the country, notably Kano, Plateau and Nasarawa States, have been seen waving Russian flags and chanting songs in Hausa during the ongoing protest.
Earlier, police authorities had arrested some persons suspected of mass-producing the flags in Nasarawa State.
