Delta Agog as prominent figures gather for Pa Edwin Clark’s burial

The town of Kiagbodo in Delta State, the ancestral home of the late Pa Edwin Clark, witnessed a significant influx of dignitaries as the funeral rites of the elder statesman were held in his honour.

Channels Television reported on Tuesday that the event drew prominent personalities from across the country, including the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; and former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who was said to have arrived in the company of his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan.

Other attendees were said to include serving and former governors, traditional rulers, political figures, and respected community leaders.

The mourners gathered to pay tribute to the late nationalist who was known for his unyielding commitment to the Niger Delta and the unity of Nigeria.

Pa Edwin Clark passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the age of 97.
