Colonel Okou upbeats as Iranian coaches arrive in Tanzania to train wrestlers
The Africa representative at the International Military Sports Council (CISM) Wrestling Sports Committee, Lieutenant Colonel Timipre Okou has expressed joy over the arrival of Iranian coaches who will educate wrestlers, coaches among others to Darosalam, Tanzania.
Lt Colonel Okou in a statement appreciated the Iranian Government for the effort to contribute to the development of Wrestling in Africa, by covering the coaches’ allowances in the number of weeks they will be in Tanzania and their return flight tickets.
Also, Okou specially mentioned the efforts of Colonel Naser Hassani, President of CISM Wrestling Committee, in the promotion and development of wrestling in Africa.
Lt Colonel Okou who doubles as International Wrestling Referee noted that the training will be closely monitored and supervised as well as other training centres within Africa to further educate participants on the rules of wrestling after other countries subscribed to the CISM Wrestling Sports Committee developmental plans for Africa.
In another development, the African Rep Colonel Okou used the medium to advice members to see the need to connect own programmes to UWW-Africa for stronger collaboration.
Consequently, Lt Colonel Okou calls on other african countries to key in to the CISM Wrestling Sports Committee Wrestling Continental Development Plan for Africa.
Lieutenant Colonel Timipre Okou concluded by expressing appreciation to the Tanzanian government for accepting the responsibility to develop wrestling in Tanzania.
