Claims of Police vehicle crushing 14yrs old boy to death in Bayelsa, untrue – Investigations

Fresh investigation into the alleged involvement of a Police vehicle in the crushing to death of a 14 years old boy in Yenagoa has been found to be untrue.
The online news team of NewsWakaNow, in an indepth investigation into the two claims of Police vehicle involvement in Yenagoa revealed that none of the vehicles attached to the Bayelsa Police Command under Commissioner of Police, Francis Idu was involved in any accident.
While the incident that happened at about 9am at Akenfa area of Yenagoa involved a Naval Vehicle crushing a Commercial Tricycle transporting a Police Inspector and two others to Tobia.
While the commercial tricycle was crushed, the Police Inspector, Timidi Alexandra and his nephew were injured. Nobody was reported dead.
Dr. Izenwingie Omoefe, the owner of the Delightsome hospital, where the injured are being treated and located opposite the Nigerian Law School, Agudama, confirmed to our correspondent that ” the injured persons were brought in by a Naval officer simply identified as Ebi and he deposited a sum for their treatment with a phone number to call after treatment.”
Dr. Omoefe confirmed that the Navy vehicle and not Police vehicle was involved in the accident.
Also speaking from the Hospital observation bed, a 27 years old boy, Clinton Mitiya from Ekeremor, said though he sustained minor injuries, ” the vehicle that ran into our tricycle was a military vehicle not Police.”
However, the second claim made against the Bayelsa State Police vehicle by a Single mother on Facebook claiming that Police vehicle crushed her son to death was found to have happened in Warri, Delta State and not in Yenagoa.
Investigations revealed that the accident, which however was true, happened in Warri and involved a police vehicle with an inscription ” Special Anti-Vice/Sea Piracy Squad” Bayelsa State.
The Mother of the 14 years old boy that was crushed to death have informed our correspondent that the case has been incident in Warri, Delta State for investigation and justice.
It was gathered that the vehicle, which is involved in anti-sea piracy operation, is not under the Bayelsa State Police Command.
Sources informed NewsWakaNow that the vehicle is being used by a known Oil Pipeline Surveillance Contractor within Delta and Bayelsa State.
