Charly Boy Recounts Experience With Prostate Cancer, Says He Is Back
“I want to thank my friends and well-wishers for standing by me through this biggest fight I’ve ever had in my life.”
Nigerian entertainer and activist Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy has recounted his experience with prostate cancer.
The self-acclaimed “Area Fada” in a video on his Instagram handle said this has been one of the greatest battles for the past 10 years.
“Today, I’m being discharged from the hospital. I’m in the hospital, you see. I’m happy doing this video,” he wrote Sunday.
“I’ve fought so many battles and I’ve won so many battles but for the past 10 days, I’ve been battling with something very huge but as God will have it, He saved my life and I beat that sucker in fighting my prostrate issue.”
Charly boy thanked his loved ones for their unwavering support during his battle with prostate cancer.
The singer went on to thank the doctor that treated him who he identified as Professor Kingsley Ekwueme but did not disclose the name of the hospital. He however added that he did not travel abroad for treatment.
“I want to thank God for sparing my life, I want to thank my cousins who gave me great support, you guys are the best. I want to thank my friends and well-wishers for standing by me through this biggest fight I’ve ever had in my life. Above all, I want to thank the doctor… he did a fantastic job, his name is Professor Kingsley Ekwueme, and he was the doctor that took care of me.
