CCT chairman Danladi Umar assaults Abuja mall security staff [Video]

Danladi Umar, Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), has publicly assaulted a security staff at a plaza in Wuse, Abuja.

The incident was recorded by an eyewitness from one of the buildings within the mall.

The reason for the attack is unknown but Umar appeared very furious.

The video showed one of the CCT chairman’s police escorts begging him to calm down.

But the Nigerian jurist kept pointing and shouting at the unidentified civilian, leading to the physical assault on the security personnel by an unidentified mall staff dressed in native attire.

The CCT boss and another ordered the plaza employee to kneel and apologize, an instruction the assaulted victim complied with.

However, seconds later, Umar was seen in the video charging towards him and kicking.

Eyewitnesses present were also seen screaming and throwing objects at Umar as one of the bystanders who seemed to have had enough of the power show, jogged around Umar’s SUV, daring him and the escort team.

Umar reportedly filed a complaint at the Maitama Police Station after the incident.

However, the Divisional Police Officer ordered the release of the security guard after seeing the video.

A legal practitioner, Ihensekhien Samuel, said Umar would be taken to court.

The assault is a reminder of a similar attack on a sex toy shop attendant by Adamawa Senator, Elisha Abbo.
