CAF will observe a moment of silence at all its football matches, including the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2023, the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederations Cup to respect and honour the people who lost their lives as a result of the earthquake in Morocco and the floods in Libya.
The CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe said: “On behalf of the Football Federations representing the 54 countries that are Members of CAF, we once more express our deep condolences to the families, the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football, the Libyan Football Federation, the Governments and the people of Morocco and Libya for the thousands of people who lost their lives during the catastrophic earthquake in Morocco and the floods in Libya. The people of Morocco and Libya are in our thoughts and prayers and may Allah console and comfort them during this painful and difficult period. We wish all the people who are injured a speedy and full recovery.”
