Bayelsa United’s Mizo Makes Africa Team Of The Week
Bayelsa United’s Mizo makes Africa team of the week
Bayelsa United player, Robert Mizo has made the Africa Soccer Zone team of the week spanning September 25 and October 1, 2023.
Mizo, who is Bayelsa United’s hitman, is the only Nigerian who made the Africa Zone soccer team of the week.
Mizo’s enlistment on the prestigious team of the week is not unconnected with his hat-trick in the eight-goal cracker between Bayelsa United and Akwa United in the 2023/24 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 1 encounter.
Players who made the list include Abdi Ineza, Zizo, Mostafa Fathi, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Peter Ogechi Maestro, Baba Hamadu Musa and Ghofrane Naouali. The others are Mothobi Mvala, Hamdi Magguez and Goitseone Phoko.
The name of Peter Ogechi, who plies his trade with Shabana F.C., sounds Nigerian but he is from the Kisii tribe of Kenya.
The Bayelsa United goaleador, Mizo, joined the Yenagoa-based club from George Turner FC four seasons ago. He had earlier played for Apretes FC of Imiringi.
Mizo’s enlistment on the Africa Soccer Zone team of the week will serve to boost the player’s confidence as the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) enters Match Day 2 this weekend.
