Bayelsa Federal Lawmaker Commissions Several Constituency Projects
March 26, (THEWILL) – The Federal Lawmaker representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, Bayelsa State, Honourable Frederick Agbedi, has described education as the bedrock to a successful life
Honourable Agbedi made the remark at the official commissioning of Zonal Intervention projects at his constituency weekend. He received massive accolades from members of the benefiting communities, who described the constituency projects as first of its kind from a federal Lawmaker.
The Federal Lawmaker noted that the importance of education at the grassroots informed his concentration on such projects in his constituency, to enable a conducive atmosphere for children’s education.
The communities that benefited from the projects included Sagbama, Ebedebiri, Aleibiri, Isoni, and Toru-Ebeni, where several classrooms, Offices, Furnitures, Civic Center and road projects were completed.
“Education is the bedrock to a successful life”, Agbedi noted. He informed the mammoth crowd that came out to welcome him that he will continue to provide empowerment projects to youths, women and the disabled in his constituency, adding that it is only the impact on the people of any politician that would determine if the people would allow him to go back to represent them.
Agbedi, who thanked them for giving him the mandate to represent them, says the event was the result of the mandate, and I promise to do more.
“No matter how small I will struggle to give back, these are some of the projects I brought back.
“For me, it is time to give back, it is time to give back to my people.
“The result of what you give back will determine if you are to go back or not.”
Also, the Deputy governor of the state, Mr Lawrence Ewrudjakpo and the immediate past Deputy governor, Rear Admiral Gboribioa John Jonah, praised Agbedi for living up to the expectations of the people.
Commissioning the projects, Ewrudjakpo, represented by Dr Churson Obosi, Commissioner for Special Duties West, commended Agbedi for the wonderful constituency projects.
According to him, Agbedi’s gesture has shown his concern for the well being of his people and for transforming the education sector in the constituency .
“I thank Fred Agbedi, the Member of parliament, for the laudable projects, the projects are so many…it will make a serious impact in the lives of the school children.
“Not just the projects, his motions at the hallowed chambers have been very vibrant and impactful”, noted Obosi, who urged members of the constituency for continued support for Agbedi.
He also commended the communities for their peaceful disposition during the execution of projects by the contractors .
In his remarks at the various communities, the former Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribioa John Jonah, who lauded Agbedi for always being a man of the grassroots and for living up to expectations of the people of his constituency, and for giving education the needed priority.
“The essence of going to public service is to improve those you are representing.
“It is to start little by little, and education is the first place.
“Some have gone there, but nothing to show”, Jonah said, while advising upcoming politicians to go and meet Agbedi for mentorship.
“Those coming behind, go to Fred for mentorship”, he advised.
Community Chiefs, youths and women leaders, all spoke glowingly of the lawmaker’s impactful projects in the communities, and massive prayer sessions were held for success in his future ambition.
The community leaders also vowed to vote Agbedi for high responsibility.
Other dignitaries at the various events included Felix Omemu, South South Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP), Women leader Martha Ajanaku and other top shots of the Party in the state including Special Advisers to the governor.
