BAYELSA ELECTION : GOVERNOR YAHAYA TO LEAD APC CAMPAIGNS TO KOLOKUMA, SOUTHERN IJAW AREAS
The All Progressives Congress (APC) says there is no cause for alarm despite the legal setback as activities are in top gear to ensure the victory of its Bayelsa State Governorship Candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva at the November 11 Gubernatorial elections.
This re-assurance was given by the Chairman of the Bayelsa State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya in Yenagoa during a live media chat with journalists on Saturday 14th October 2023.
Governor Yahaya who led members of the National Working Committee of the ruling party to Bayelsa State explained that the visit was to strengthen the synergy between the national leadership and the State Chapter as well as provide support in order to the actualize the goal of Chief Timipre Sylva as the next Governor of Bayelsa State come February 14 2024.
The Chairman of the National Gubernatorial Campaign Council emphasized that Chief Timipre Sylva possesses the experience and skills just as he is widely accepted by Bayelsans to put the State on the pedestals of sustainable development.
He noted that the postponement of the official flag off of the campaign scheduled for Saturday 14th October 2023 was to allow for adequate preparations to receive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is expected to be in Yenagoa for the event adding that a new date for the flag off will be communicated soonest.
Furthermore, as part of the visit to Bayelsa State, the team also held a meeting with party stakeholders across the eight local government areas at the Campaign secretariat in Yenagoa to fine tune plans ahead of campaign activities in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area as well as Southern Ijaw Local Government Area scheduled for 17th October and between 18th to 20th October 2023 respectively.
We therefore use this medium to call on all our teeming supporters and well wishers to come out en masse for the campaign rallies.
