Asake’s new album debuts on Billboard Afrobeats chart with 12 songs
Asake, the Nigerian singer, has continued his impressive form with the release of his second album ‘Work of Art‘ which debuted 12 songs on the Billboard US Afrobeats chart.
The Billboard chart ranks the top 50 of the most popular Afrobeat songs in the United States.
In the latest installment, the singer dominates the chart with 12 songs off his 14-track album.
‘Basquait’ debuts at number 14, while ‘Mogbe’ and ‘Olorun’ secured the number 36 and 49 spots respectively.
‘Lonely at The Top’ is at number 24, while ‘I Believe’ comes up at No. 25, with ‘What’s Up My G’ taking the 26 position.
The number 27 spot is occupied by ‘Sunshine’ as ‘Awodi’ (28), ‘Remember’ (29), and ‘Introduction’ (32) also got their spots in the chart.
‘Great Guy’ secures the number 34 spot while ‘Yoga’ takes the number 42 position.
Asake released ‘Work Of Art’ in June 2023 and the album has continued to receive positive reviews from fans.
In September 2022, his debut project titled ‘Mr Money With The Vibe’ snagged a spot on the Billboard 200 album chart.
The project would later occupy the first 12 spots on Apple Music’s Top 100 chart in Nigeria.
Asake, born Ahmed Ololade, became popular in 2020 when he released a freestyle titled ‘Mr Money’.
He was signed to YBNL, the record label in February 2022 where he released ‘Ololade,’ his debut extended play (EP).
The singer has worked with a plethora of Nigerian artistes such as Burna Boy, Olamide, and DJ Spinall.
He is a graduate of theatre and performing arts at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
