June 20: De Laurentiis speaks
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has hinted Osimhen could leave the club this summer for the right price.
But the 74-year-old also suggested there is an initial agreement in place for the striker to sign a two-year contract extension with the Italian champions.
De Laurentiis said: “Osimhen has to stay. Then, if an offer came in that I could not refuse for the good of Napoli, then we would consider it, as is only natural. We already have a basic agreement on a two-year extension of his contract.”
June 15: Napoli meeting
Napoli and Osimhen’s agent will soon have a meeting to discuss the striker’s future, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
They will try to figure out the conditions for a contract renewal, with the hitman’s current deal with the Partenopei expiring in 2025.
A potential fee for clubs interested in the African hotshot will also be discussed.
June 11: Bayern target
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has confirmed that Osimhen is a target for the Bundesliga champions this summer.
He said: “As a striker costs a lot, we have to make sure he fits well at Bayern. The same names are mentioned in the media: [Randal] Kolo Muani, Harry Kane, Osimhen, [Dusan] Vlahovic.
“We are watching closely to see who is a better fit at Bayern. We’re also looking at the financial side. I am convinced that we will find a good solution.”
June 4: Osimhen speaks
Osimhen partially addressed his future after Napoli’s 2-0 win over Sampdoria on the final day of the Serie A season.
Remaining coy, the marksman said: “For me, I don’t mind, the president decides and I will just go with the flow. This season has been brilliant for me but I feel motivated to do even more next season.
“Everything is possible. Just like when we started the season, lots of people didn’t believe in Napoli. If the president says we can win it, I believe it, everything is possible.”
June 1: Man Utd on the phone
Manchester United are said to be one of the teams interested in signing Osimhen.
Gazzetta dello Sport report that the centre forward’s agent has already “received calls” from the Red Devils, as well as Newcastle and Bayern Munich.
Erik ten Hag is in desperate need of a new striker for next season, given Anthony Martial’s fitness struggles and the fact Wout Weghorst’s move is unlikely to be made permanent.
