Agbedi Champions Rule of Law, Ensures Fair Hearing at National Assembly Public Petitions Session
Rt. Hon. (Chief) Fred Agbedi, Ph.D., Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Special Duties, has reaffirmed the National Assembly’s commitment to justice and due process during a public hearing on a petition brought before the House.
At the session held at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, Rt. Hon. Agbedi presided over proceedings involving petitioners and police respondents in a matter requiring legislative oversight and intervention.
The hearing formed part of the Committee’s constitutional mandate to investigate grievances brought by citizens and ensure that government institutions operate within the ambit of the law.
In a calm, firm, and methodical manner, Rt. Hon. Agbedi engaged both parties, asking probing questions aimed at establishing the facts surrounding the petition.
