Africa: Nearly 10 Million Covid-19 Recoveries Across Continent

Harare — As of February 11, 2022, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached  11,028,833 while over 220,617,343 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 242,755 and 9,959,095 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases  3,637,270 and 96,715 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  1,152,580 ), Tunisia ( 950,575 ), Ethiopia ( 467,162 ), Libya (  462,820 ), Egypt (  444,117 )  and Kenya (  322,334 ).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
