2027: Aba Voters Urged to Collect PVCs as Ibeku Group Backs Ikwechegh’s Return to Reps

The Ibeku Political Forum (IPF) in Aba, Abia State, has launched a grassroots push to deliver a “landslide” for Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh in the 2027 elections. The group is also asking residents of the Aba North/Aba South federal constituency to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
In a communique issued after a meeting on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, the forum said it would mobilise bulk votes and provide logistics for the campaign of Ikwechegh, the Labour Party (LP) candidate seeking a second term in the House of Representatives.
The communique was signed by IPF President Chief Emmanuel Ekeleme, Secretary-General Amb. Chinedu Emeruwa and Women Leader Mrs. Catherine Onwudinjo. It said support for the lawmaker cuts across academia, the media, traditional institutions, religious bodies and the private sector.
The forum argued that voters should use their PVCs to end what it called poor representation and legislative redundancy in the constituency. It described Ikwechegh as the most competent and experienced candidate and credited him with sound leadership and legislative achievements in his first term.
The IPF also said a second term would bring more development to the constituency, including rural communities, through people-oriented bills. It added that he would keep the area connected to federal social investment and empowerment programmes.
