NWF President Adeniyi Congratulates Adebiyi Anthony on UWW Level 2 Refereeing Certification
The President Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has congratulated Adebiyi Anthony Olusegun on his successful attainment of Level 2 United World Wrestling (UWW) Referees certification.
Anthony completed the Level 2 Referees Course held during the 2026 African Wrestling Championships in Alexandria, Egypt, marking another significant milestone in his refereeing career.
His participation in the course was part of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation’s inclusive approach under Adewale Adeniyi to developing officials and creating opportunities for promising referees to acquire international exposure and certification
The NWF President sponsored Anthony’s participation in the course as part of the Board’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of Nigerian wrestling officials at both national and international levels.
Receiving the news of Anthony’s certification, Adeniyi said the achievement reflects the vision of the present NWF Board to invest not only in athletes but also in referees, coaches and other technical officials whose expertise is essential to the growth and development of wrestling in Nigeria.
The NWF President expressed pride in Olusegun’s accomplishment, saying the entire Nigerian wrestling family is pleased with his progress and confident that his new qualification will contribute to the continued development of the sport.
He also encouraged young, promising and interested referees across the country to remain committed to learning, excellence and professional development, urging them to take advantage of opportunities that can help them represent Nigeria on the international stage.

Meanwhile, Adebiyi Anthony Olusegun expressed his appreciation to the President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for his magnanimity and support in sponsoring him to attend the referee course, describing the opportunity as a significant step in his career and thanked the NWF President for investing in the development of technical officials in Nigerian wrestling.
