Opposition Submits: Agbedi Leads Fresh Push for Unity. We can repeat what APC did in 2015.

The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Fredrick Yeitiemone Agbedi, Ph.D., has called on Nigeria’s opposition parties to put aside personal ambitions and political differences and unite in the national interest ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the G100 Opposition Summit in Abuja, Agbedi said the Minority Caucus has no preferred opposition candidate or political party, stressing that its priority is to promote a united opposition capable of providing Nigerians with a credible alternative to the ruling APC.
Drawing lessons from 2015, he declared: “If we are united, what the APC did in 2015, we can repeat it. We can do it.”
Agbedi’s call comes against the backdrop of widespread concerns over the current administration’s handling of the economy and security situation, with Nigerians grappling with rising living costs, inflation, economic hardship and persistent insecurity. These challenges, critics argue, have placed enormous pressure on families and businesses and deepened public dissatisfaction with the direction of governance.
The Minority Leader warned that dividing opposition votes could once again weaken the collective strength of parties seeking a change of government, despite their combined electoral support.
His intervention further underscores the strategic leadership of the Minority Caucus under his stewardship, as it continues to advocate democratic accountability, effective governance and a credible political alternative for Nigerians.
The message from Agbedi and the Minority Caucus is clear. Where the ruling party has failed to address the challenges confronting Nigerians adequately, the opposition must unite, offer a credible alternative and give citizens a democratic choice in 2027.
