Strengthening Nigeria’s Security Framework: Minority Leader Fred Agbedi Joins Constitution Review Deliberations on Federal and State Police Bill

Rt. Hon. (Chief) Fred Agbedi, Ph.D., Member representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, Chairman of the House Committee on Special Duties, and Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, participated in the Constitution Review Committee’s consideration of the proposed bill seeking the establishment of Federal and State Police.

The high-level deliberation forms part of the ongoing constitutional amendment process aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture through legislative reforms. Rt. Hon. Agbedi joined fellow lawmakers in examining the proposed legislation, reaffirming the National Assembly’s commitment to developing a constitutional framework that promotes effective policing, enhances public safety, and addresses the nation’s evolving security challenges.
