Tinubu Visits Bayelsa to Commission Major Projects as Lawmaker Praises Governor Diri

A federal lawmaker has praised the governor of Bayelsa State as President Bola Tinubu visits the state to commission a series of infrastructure projects.

Rt Hon Fred Agbedi, who represents the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, said the visit on 10 April 2026 marked a “significant moment” for the state and a recognition of its recent development efforts.

In a statement, Mr Agbedi congratulated Governor Douye Diri, describing the president’s visit as an endorsement of his leadership and commitment to growth.

Several projects are due to be commissioned during the visit, including the Opokuma–Sabagreia–Polaku Road and Bridge, the Angiama–Oporoma Bridge, a 60-megawatt gas turbine in Elebele, Glory Drive Phase 3, and the New Yenagoa City–LNG Road.

Mr Agbedi said the projects demonstrate a “people-focused and results-driven” approach to governance, adding that they could improve infrastructure and economic prospects in the state.

He also reaffirmed his support for the Bayelsa State government, pledging continued collaboration to promote development and improve living standards.

President Tinubu’s visit is expected to draw attention to Bayelsa’s infrastructure drive and its role in the wider development of Nigeria’s Niger Delta region.
