Bayelsa Deputy Governor Appreciates Former Governor Seriake Dickson.

Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has expressed appreciation to former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson for the painstaking efforts that led to the establishment of the State Medical University.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo gave the commendation at the Medical University (BMU), while delivering an address on behalf of the state Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri.
” I commend him deeply because I am aware of the opposition he faced at the time. Senator Dickson truly proved himself a visionary leader during his tenure as Governor of our state, and today, we are beginning to witness the fruits of his foresight. Indeed, he was a man who saw his visions in the daylight, not in the dark of night.
I say this with every sense of humility and duty: if I were to leave here without acknowledging Senator Dickson’s contributions, I would have failed in my responsibility as a forthright and appreciative individual. I feel honored and privileged to venerate his immense contributions to the success story of this great medical university.
I must also express my gratitude to the immediate past Vice Chancellor, Professor Ebitimitula Etebu, who gave us a glimpse into the institution’s formative years. We must commend Professor Etebu for the solid foundation he laid as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of BMU, he added.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo also commended the Vice Chancellor for his leadership style and expressed confident that his seeds leadership will grow, enabling the government to export this university to the world and to bring the world to this university.
He assured the management and staff of the University of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri administration’s readiness and committed to working with the BMU at all times.
