2027: We are not following Tinubu blindly – Supporters group

Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ), supporters group of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2027 elections has told critics that they are not supporting the President blindly, saying their support dated back to when he was nursing presidential ambition which he eventually achieved in 2023 presidential contest.
In a statement on Tuesday, the National Coordinator of DOJ, Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje said: “It has become necessary to speak out, not out of blind loyalty, but in defence of truth and national interest. We have been working for Tinubu’s presidential ambition long before he made up his mind to contest in 2023 which he eventually won.
“The recent political charade by those who seek to disguise themselves under a newly branded coalition must not go unchallenged. Nigerians should not allow them to come and distort the good work that President Tinubu is doing now to make Nigeria great.
“We, the Tinubu Coalition of Support Groups, remain firm in our commitment to the Renewed Hope agenda. We will continue to seek guidance, build unity, and re-strategize in preparation for 2027.
“We are not blindly defending the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but we strongly support his bold economic reforms — particularly the removal of the fraudulent fuel subsidy.
“It was a necessary decision, one that understandably caused temporary disruption. But such disruption is the cost of genuine reform. The foundation was rotten, and the President is now working to rebuild it. He is not a perfect man, but he is making visible efforts to rearrange and stabilize a broken system. We are already seeing signs of progress.
“To those parading themselves as an alternative coalition, let us be clear: your past records remain public. Former vice presidents, ex-governors, and ministers — titles alone do not grant you moral authority. Your political ideology reeks of recycled deceit and opportunism. Nigerians remember. We remember how the nation’s future was mortgaged by the same individuals now attempting to reposition themselves as saviours.
“If Nigerians remain silent out of fear, we risk allowing these same people to return to power and repeat the cycle of ruin. But we refuse to be afraid. We respect only those who deserve it, not those who have continually insulted the intelligence of the Nigerian people.
“This is a call to action for all Nigerians who love this country: do not be deceived. May Almighty Allah continue to protect, guide, and bless all who speak the truth.”
