Police arrest 23 years old Fulani herder with AK-47 rifle, loads 30 rounds of ammunition hidden in Bayelsa

A stop and search team of the Safer Highway Patrol Team of the Bayelsa State Police Command has apprehended a 23 years old man with unlawful possession of one AK 47 rifle with two magazine loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition along the East-West road of Bayelsa State
The suspect, identified as Mohammed Usman, is an Indigene of Bornu State and a Fulani Herder, was arrested in a commercial Sienna bus during a routine stop and search exercise.
According to sources within the State Police Command, the Stop and search exercise on the 7th of January at about 4.15pm led to the stop of the commercial vehicle and when the perssengers were asked to come down for a body and luggage search,” two came down and jumped into the nearby bush and escaped ”
” While one Mohammed Usman,Male,23 years old and an Indigene of Borno State was arrested. His Semovita bag was searched and a one AK 47 rifle with two magazine loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition were recovered.”
Already, the men of the Operation Puff Adder of the State Police Command have started investigation.
