Super Eagles winger returns to team training, in line to feature against Udinese
Samuel Chukwueze didn't travel with the rest of the Super Eagles to Libya as he returned to Italy to have further injury checks.
Super Eagles and AC Milan right winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has recovered from his muscle injury and is set to feature in his sides clash against Udinese this weekend.
The 25-year-old featured in Nigeria’s 1-0 win against the Mediterranean knights of Libya, coming on in the 62nd minute to replace FC Augsburg’s Frank Onyeka.
However, towards the end of the game, the former Villarreal man felt some discomfort in his leg but continued as Nigeria sealed all three points at home.
After the game, he returned to his club side to get further checks on the injury and wasn’t a part of the Nigerian team that were left stranded in Libya.
AC Milan coach, Paulo Fonseca, has had to deal with a fair amount of injuries this season, but there’s hope he could have some players like Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Samuel Chukwueze may be available for the match against Udinese.
As per Sky Sport Italia, the Nigerian winger, who returned to Milanello after his commitment with his national team, sustained a muscle injury in Nigeria’s match against Libya.
However, his injury does not appear to be serious, and as per the source mentioned above, Chukwueze is now in top condition and trained with the rest of the Rossoneri squad yesterday. He is expected to available for Milan’s clash against Udinese on Saturday at the San Siro.
Samuel Chukwueze is yet to register a goal or assist for club and country this season.
