APC CHIEFTAIN, IZZI YAKIAH BACKS HEINEKEN LOKPOBIRI SUSPENSION

A grassroot politician and a member of the All Progressives Congress in ward one, Yenagoa community, Bayelsa State, Chief Izzi Yakiah says Friday suspension of Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri from the APC is a decisive steps to shelve traitors who have sabotaged the strength of the party during elections.

Speaking to Journalists in Abuja on the suspension which also extends to the party 2019 Governorship candidate, Chief David Lyon, erstwhile Party Chairman, Amos Jothan, Yakiah’s insisted that the suspension followed a report of the party disciplinary committee set up in accordance to article 213 of the APC constitution 2022 as amended.

Izzi who is the founder of a Non Governmental Organization, “Niger Delta Media Activists Group and Excellent Leadership Foundation” described Senator Heineken Lokpobiri’s claim to the party leader position as an ignorant interpretation of the party provision that mandate a person with the highest political office holder as the leader of the party.

He insisted that Chief Timipre Sylva being a former Governor who was elected in 2007 and served till 2012 remains the substantive leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bayelsa State Chapter.

The APC chieftain also accused the Minister of poor performance which has defied President Bola Tinubu directive to reposition the nations oil sector for optimal productivity, arguing that Senator Heineken Lokpobiri has pay more attention to his self attempts to induct himself as the party leader in Bayelsa State is to consolidate on his yet to be announced Governorship ambition.

Chief Izzi Yakiah cited Heineken Lokpobiri nomination of Kharim Kumoko as commissioner for Power in Governor Douye Diri administration in Bayelsa State, absenteeism from all Bayelsa APC engagement between 2021 till date as affirmation of his disloyalty and sabotage to the All Progressives Congress.
